Dr. Hurlbert’s 20-year and ongoing career in the nonprofit sector demonstrates that scientific training can enable one to make a significant impact on advancing cures for patients outside of the laboratory.

Having led teams of passionate colleagues, students, interns, patients, and partners, Dr. Hurlbert and his collaborators have made a difference in breast cancer, skin cancer (melanoma), lymphoma, multiple myeloma, autoimmune type 1 diabetes, and neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease and Huntington’s disease.
